Calling them out

One might assume from the title that I am going to call out various right wing nut jobs for outrageous or despicable words of hate or vitriol.

I am not.
I am tired of pointing out the bad behavior of what is increasingly no longer the fringe of the Republican party. The right stays mum while more and more prominent figures spout crap like death panels, pulling the plug on grandma, socialism, fascism, communism, government takeover of healthcare, unconstitutional czars, indoctrination of school children, etc. etc.
It is time for the bull shit to cease and it is NOT the job of the left to make it end. From now on I hold all prominent Republicans responsible for the rantings of Michelle Bachmann, Roy Blunt and Joe Wilson. But I am not going to stop there, I will also hold all prominent Republicans responsible for the rantings of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and the rest of the Cluster Fox crew that push credulity to a foil hat art form.
The right has to start denouncing the hate and vitriol that is spewing from their side of the political spectrum, to do any less is to condone such behavior. We will find a way to paint you with the brush of hate that your side is brandishing, deal with it or we will make sure that you will have to deal with it for a very long time to come. This is the age of YouTube, Blogs, Twitter and you have no idea how effectively these tools can be leveraged by the younger generations that are far more tolerant and far more technologically adept.
Call them out or we will call you out, Got it?

Listen to the President kids and stay in school, otherwise you might end up like so many of the RWNJ’s that think that 30,000 – 70,000 people could reasonably be construed to be 2,000,000!
Among the numerically challenged are Michelle Malkin, Dick Armey, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck etc, etc.
Nate Silver says the numbers don’t add up and are you really gonna argue numbers with Nate Silver?

I Meant to post this earlier, still an important point…
From the Rude Pundit –

Sen. Richard “My Forehead Is Too Big For My Face” Shelby: “I think rationing is underlying all of this. There’s a lot of denial out there, but you look at the other plans — you look at the Canadian plan, the British plan and so forth, and you have long lines. People decide who’s going to get treatment and when. That’s rationing health care. If you don’t get health care when you need it, you know, ultimately it’s going to affect your life.”

Sean Hannity on government-run health insurance: “There’s rationing, there’s long lines.”

Neil Cavuto on the same: “It is going to be spread between a lot of folks and there will be long lines and rationed care.”

The threat of “long lines” is invoked by other members of Congress, like Representative John Fleming (R-LA) and the hilariously named Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-Starb…VA).

You get the idea. You’ve heard it all a million times over. Here’s the problem: if you’re afraid of “long lines” for health care, then you advocate rationing that care. Because what you’re saying is that you don’t want more people to be able to go to the doctor. In other words, you want to deny people medical treatment because you (mostly irrationally) fear there’s a possibility you may not be next in line, that some impoverished woman on a public option might go before you.

In even other words, if you’re afraid of “long lines,” you are part of a de facto death panel. Your convenience comes at the cost of other people’s misery and demise.

The conversation should at some point come around to what the citizens of the country want to vote for in the way of a social safety net. What basic minimum standards of life will we afford to those less fortunate than ourselves. The argument changes as the fortunes of the middle class change. The disparity between rich and poor has gotten much more extreme over the last 10 years and at some point if the rich become richer and the poor become a larger percentage of the population there will be change. It may come in the form of a revolution, but with our democracy it is more likely to come in political upheaval that will ultimately lead to more social justice but the transition could be painful and will almost certainly not be pretty.

Or the doctors in this case, the boots on the ground, the ones that charged with actually delivering health care in this nation.

Would it not be useful to find out where they come down on the inclusion of a “public option” in health care reform?
Well someone did, and it turns out that the Doctors overwhelmingly support having a public option to go along with private insurance.
I don’t think that this is the only poll that we should be looking at to decide the best way to proceed, but I don’t think it should be easily dismissed either.

FreedomWorks claims “Hundreds of Thousands of Patriots March on DC”

According to all credible sources, the number was somewhere between 30,000 and 70,000.
Having a old white guy lie about size is kind of a cliche, but when the guys name is Dick, well it just gets laughable.
